Introduction
My name is Ashley Allgood. Currently, I am a Latin teacher at Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2006 with a BacheIor's dual degree in Latin and Foreign Language Education. I received a Master's degree in Latin from the University of Georgia in 2010.
I am in the Education Specialist Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program Fall 2014 and will graduate Spring 2016. KSU's reputation in instructional technology led me to the EdS Degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology. I am pursuing this degree in order to be a more effective teacher in this digital age.
The purpose of this portfolio is to demonstrate my mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE NETS-C standards. There are a series of tabs along the top where my work is compiled. These tabs include Introduction, Video Reflection, Resume, Vision, Diversity, Standards, Field Experiences, Blog, and Capstone Project. Of particular importance is the "Standards" tab. Under this tab, there are a series of artifacts and reflections documenting my important work during this program. Each artifact represents mastery of the standard under which it is represented.
In viewing my portfolio, the reader may want to follow the tabs in order as they will provide insight into the progression of the program. Starting with my introduction, reflection, resume, and vision will enable the reader to understand where I started and ended. The other tabs illustrate my course work and experiences throughout the program, which all led up to my capstone project. Once the reader has reviewed all tabs, it might be helpful to have a second viewing of the reflection video.
This portfolio reflects my experiences and learning throughout this Instructional Technology Specialist program. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kennesaw State University, and feel that I am well-prepared to integrate technology into my classroom and to assist other educators in using technology and providing professional learning opportunities for them.
